Award Winning Schools

In 2003, Union schools received an overall rating of "exceptional" in the fourth-annual Oregon Department of Education school report card program. Ninety-one elementary and high schools in the state received this highest possible ranking out of a total of 1,082 schools evaluated statewide with Union High School only one of six high schools statewide receiving the highest possible rating of "exceptional".

Award Winning Teachers

In 2001, the Oregon School Activities Association recognized two Union teachers with the National Federation Award of Excellence. The award is presented to two individuals from each OSAA member high school who practice, support and uphold the ideals of sportsmanship, ethics and integrity in their daily lives.

Award Winning Students

Academics are and always will be the focus our students, parents, and teachers. In addition, our Bobcat sports teams have enjoyed an above average number of state championships throughout their history, including two championship teams in 2002, one a repeat winner from 2001.

Union Schools - 2002 Cross Country Team

The OSAA Scholar Athlete award was earned by Union students in 2000, recognizing outstanding achievement by graduating seniors at high schools throughout Oregon. The OSAA Scholar Athlete award goes to the school in each classification with the highest percentage of graduating seniors who have earned a 3.50 cumulative G.P.A. and a varsity letter in an OSAA sanctioned sport. 89% of Union scholar athletes were among only 3000 students across the state who achieved this distinction.

Union students continue to successfully integrate academics and athletics, rating number 7 out of all 2A Oregon schools in the 2000 OSSA Cup. The OSSA cup award is based on their finish in all OSAA-U.S. Bank State Championships, and for Top 10 finishes in the OSAA-Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State program.
